Well actually, an artefact is a very powerful version of an artifact, and Arthusse’s wand cannot be qualified as anything other than… Ok fine, it’s a French word I thought was the same in English, I’ll correct it now… :/
Both artefact and artifact are acceptable alternatives. Spelling it with an ‘i’ is somewhat more common in the US but both are in use in various publications, newspapers and dictionaries.
